Camden-Wyoming downed Felton-Harrington, 11-1, in the Major League baseball District I Tournament on Tuesday evening.

The victory puts Camden-Wyoming (1-0) in the winners’ bracket finals, which will be played on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at Dover.

Camden-Wyoming will face M.O.T., which downed Dover, 20-3, to improve to 2-0 in the six-team, double-elimination tourney.

Dover (0-1) takes on Milford (0-1) today at 6 p.m. before Smyrna-Clayton squares off with Felton-Harrington at 8:30 p.m. in a pair of elimination contests.

M.O.T. has won the last five District I titles.

Felton-Harrington 13, Milford 5: In a game played Monday, Drake Robbins went 2-for-2, with a triple and four RBI to pace Felton-Harrington to the opening-round win.

Winning pitcher Rueben Marquess allowed four runs and four hits in five and a third innings while Kai Rivera, Cody Klotz and Quinton Maris all had two hits and a run scored.

For Milford, Evan Gregg went 3-for-3 with a homerun, 2 RBI and a pair of runs scored, Noah Hurd tripled while Nick Hurd had a double and an RBI.

8-10 Tournament

Camden-Wyoming 6, Milford 0: Stephen Dunnigan and Jackson Papen combined to pitch a one-hitter in the District I tourney win on Monday night.

Colby Role and Cameron McCray both a pair of hits for Camden-Wyoming.

Milford pitchers Josh Miller and Dominic Ortiz allowed only one run over the final five innings.

Senior League

Naamans 9, Lower Sussex 5: The District II champions captured the state title with the win on Tuesday night.

After going 3-0 in the tournament, Lower Sussex moves on to the Eastern Regional in Thorofare, N.J.

American Legion

Smyrna Post-14 5, Fox Post-2 1: Jeremy Carrow pitched a complete-game three-hitter with 11 strikeouts as Smyrna earned the South Division victory.

Smyrna took control with four runs in the fourth before adding a run in the seventh. Brent Pennewell (2-for-4) and Ryan Seymour (2 RBI) both doubled.

Fox Post scored in the first inning on back-to-back doubles from Miquel Rivera and Brent Buckson. Pitcher Noah Lanouette struck out five.

SOFTBALL

8-10 Tournament

Camden-Wyoming 5, M.O.T. 2: Winning pitcher Chloe Donovan had 10 strikeouts as Camden-Wyoming won the District I title on Tuesday night.

Camden-Wyoming advances to the state tourney, which begins on July 19 at Canal Little League.

Also for Camden-Wyoming, McKenzie Mitchell had a hit and scored twice, Regan Robinson scored a run and Dunnigan had a triple and two runs scored.

Haley Grygo and Meadow Sutton scored M.O.T.’s runs.

College lacrosse

DSU joining new league in ‘18: The Delaware State women’s lacrosse team will begin playing as a member of the Southern Conference beginning in the 2018 season.

The Southern Conference announced on Tuesday the addition of women’s lacrosse as its 22nd sport and that Delaware State, Central Michigan and Detroit Mercy will join the league as associate members for the upcoming season.

The new additions will join full Southern Conference members Furman, Mercer and Wofford to form a six-team league with an automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Tournament.

Delaware State was a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference in 2017 after competing as a NCAA Division I independent for four seasons after the team was formed in 2013.

Central Michigan and Detroit Mercy are also former Atlantic Sun women’s lacrosse members.

The Southern Conference, headquartered in Spartanburg, S.C., is in its 96th year of intercollegiate competition, making it the fifth oldest NCAA Division I collegiate athletic association.
