DOVER — A new MOD Pizza opened its doors on Friday in Dover. The pizza chain’s newest location is on 1037 N. DuPont Highway.

According to MOD Pizza spokeswoman Charlotte Wayte, all the proceeds of their first day of pizza sales were donated to Generosity Feeds — a non-profit focused on addressing food insecurity for kids.

“MOD is partnering with Generosity Feeds to create meals that are designed for kids backpack programs, so these kiddos have meals for weekends and during the summer,” said Ms. Wayte. “Through this opening, we will be supporting the Dover community.”

MOD Pizza is a pizzeria franchise focused on “fast-casual pizza.” The company was founded in Seattle in 2008 by entrepreneurs Scott Svenson and his wife Ally.

MOD’s pizzas are made on demand, using fresh-pressed dough, signature sauces and over 30 toppings.

Ms. Wayte noted that the chain now has more than 340 locations across 28 states and the United Kingdom.

The Dover location will be open from 10:30 am to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Owners hired approximately 30 employees to operate the new location, said Ms. Wayte.
