HomeGoods announces Sept. 23 opening in Dover

DOVER — A HomeGoods store is slated to open its doors in Dover on Sept. 23 at 1380 N. DuPont Highway, according to the discount home furnishing chain. Formerly an H. H. Gregg — an appliance retailer — the retail space in the shopping center across the road from Dover Mall has undergone fairly significant facade renovations over the last two months.

The new 27,286 square-foot store will be the 26th HomeGoods in the Philadelphia market.

HomeGoods operates more than 650 stores across the country and is a division of The TJX Companies, Inc.

“Our amazing values, brand names, and vast assortment make HomeGoods an exciting destination for shoppers,” John Ricciuti, President of HomeGoods, said in a statement.

“With a large variety of special merchandise from around the world, customers will always find something thrilling in our treasure hunt environment at great values. We are happy to provide Dover with a local HomeGoods.”

HomeGoods merchandise departments include furniture, rugs, lighting, decorative accessories, kitchen and dining, bedding, bath, kids’ décor and toys, pet accessories, storage, workspace, outdoor, gourmet and wellness.

HomeGoods expects to fill approximately 65 full- and part-time positions at the location.

According to Glassdoor — an anonymous employer review platform — HomeGoods stores pay sales associates around $9 per hour, assistant managers about $50,000 per year and store managers about $72,000 per year.
