DOVER — Tasty Crab House — billing itself as South Carolina’s tasty seafood boil — is poised to open a new location in Dover on 705 N. DuPont Highway. According to their Facebook page, the Cajun-inspired seafood eatery is anticipating opening their doors between August and September.

“Dover Tasty Crab House is opening soon, we will be bringing with us New Orleans style seafood boils,” reads a social media post by the business.

Restaurant ownership couldn’t be reached for comment.

According to the crab house’s website, the franchise appears to be carrying out a large expansion. With only three locations currently — one in South Carolina and two in North Carolina — 11 more stores are advertised as “opening soon” from Poughkeepsie, New York to Tampa, Florida. The one in Dover appears to be the only location planned for Delaware.

The restaurant features menu items such as crawfish, king crab legs, shrimp, baby clams, lobster, oysters, mussels, snow crabs and seasonal blue crabs, according to their website. It’s unclear what, if any, food items will be locally sourced.

At one time a CashPoint car title loan location, the commercial space has sat empty for some time. Recently the new Tasty Crab House sign was erected and the interior of the building appears to be under renovation.
