Delaware State News overcomes ransomware setback

Updated: Thursday’s edition of the Delaware State News was published and delivered on its normal schedule.

DOVER — A ransomware attack on the company’s servers curtailed operations at the Delaware State News Wednesday, but did not keep the newspaper from publishing a Thursday edition.

Our tech experts continued to address the threats to our systems. Wednesday’s attack led to the newspaper staff working without servers and, in most cases, left us inaccessible by phone.

Obviously, this attack interfered with our ability to serve our readers and advertisers fully and effectively today. We apologize for any inconveniences this has caused.

The Delaware State News staff worked diligently Wednesday evening to prepare Thursday’s newspaper and published on its usual press time.

Thanks for your understanding.
