AMC Museum will host 30th anniversary festival

DOVER – Tickets for a raffle and reception for the Air Mobility Command’s 30th anniversary celebration are now on sale.

The party will start at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, on the eve of the two-day Festival of Flight.

More than a dozen rides in vintage military aircraft are among the prizes that will drawn in the raffle at the Sept. 23 reception. The grand prize is a ride around the Statue of Liberty and up the Hudson River in New York City at low altitude.

Tickets for the reception are $100 and good for two guests and an entry into the raffle. Only 250 tickets will be sold.

The reception will feature music, wine and beer and heavy hors d’oeuvres.

On Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 24-25, the Festival of Flight will offer an opportunity for visitors to see inside 20 aircraft – almost twice as many aircraft as ever before.

The museum staff is readying 20 aircraft so that visitors can see inside including two jet fighters and several other aircraft that are not normally part of the Open Cockpit Day.

Hours will be  10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The festival is open free to the public.

The AMC Museum if located on Del. 9 south of Dover Air Force Base.
