America bringing rock hits to Dover Downs Jan. 29

DOVER – Grammy Award-winning rock group America, featuring Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell, will visit the Rollins Center ballroom at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino on Jan. 29, 2016.

Tickets will go on sale Tuesday and can be purchased by contacting VIP Services at 800-711-5882. Ticket prices range from $30 to $50.

America, internationally known for hit singles such as “A Horse With No Name,”  “I Need You,” “Ventura Highway,” “Don’t Cross The River,” “Lonely People,” “Tin Man,” and “Sister Golden Hair,” formed in 1970 and have recorded six albums certified at gold or platinum status. America’s first greatest hits collection, “History,” registered more than 4 million sales.

Along with former band member Dan Peek, the trio won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1972. America’s most recent album was “Back Pages,” which was released in 2011.
