BRIDGEVILLE — The inaugural Chesapeake Golf Expo will be held Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Heritage Shores Golf Club in Bridgeville. The golf club is an award-winning, 7,005-yard, 18-hole layout designed by prestigious golf architect Arthur Hills.

The Chesapeake Golf Expo is presented by the Sussex Post in partnership with Heritage Shores and sponsored by Key Advisors Group LLC. The event will shine the spotlight on golf in Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

There will be close to 20 vendors, including some of the top courses in Delaware and Maryland. In addition, there will be a putting contest, product demonstrations from two leading golf product companies, educational training seminars by the Delaware State Golf Association and the Delaware Women’s Golf Association.

Plus, there will be a grand prize package of multiple golf foursomes from the area courses awarded at the end of the day.

Information will also be available for the expo’s charitable fundraising partner, the First Tee Delaware. The First Tee of Delaware is a local chapter of The First Tee National youth development organization introducing the game of golf and its inherent values to young people.

They help shape the lives of young people from Delaware and the tri-state area by providing in school and after-school educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

Product demonstrations will take place on the driving range, near the Golf Shop.

A buffet lunch is available in the Passwaters Restaurant and Tavern from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes bbq pulled pork on a brioche bun, grilled bratwurst on a bun, pasta salad, coleslaw, bacon and bourbon baked beans, homemade potato chips, assorted cookies and brownies, fresh-brewed coffee, iced tea and fresh lemonade.

Bourbon and beer tastings will be available starting at 4 p.m. in the Sugar Beet Market with bourbons from Basil Hayden’s and Maker’s Mark and beer from 16 Mile Brewery. Attendees can also shop for cigars from the Gray Ash Cigar Service and enjoy a smoke along with their bourbon or beer on the deck at the Sugar Beet Market. The Market will also offer drink specials and food for purchase.

Throughout the day Brookfield Residential and Ryan Homes will offer on-site house tours of Heritage Shores, a 55 and better golf community. Stop by the Discovery Center to learn more.

General admission to the Chesapeake Golf Expo is $15 at the door. Tickets for the buffet lunch and tastings are available for an additional fee.
