HARRINGTON — Country music star Jake Owen will play the Delaware State Fair’s Quillen Arena Sept. 13, fair officials announced Wednesday evening.
The ACM Award-nominated singer/songwriter’s current Top 10 single is “Down To The Honkytonk.” That follows Mr. Owen’s seventh career No. 1 hit, “I Was Jack (You Were Diane).” Both are off his latest album “Greetings from Jake,” which was released in March.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. Australian country-pop duo Seaforth will take the stage at 7.
Playing a Downstate Delaware show seems to be an annual event for Mr. Owen, as he performed at Milton’s Hudson Fields in 2018, Dewey Beach’s Bottle & Cork nightclub in 2017 and the Delaware State Fair in 2016.
The Quillen Arena, known informally as “The Q,” is covered, taking on more of a festival look and feel with food trucks and beer gardens. The Q also features festival-style seating configurations with general admission sections in the surrounding bleachers, reserved seating in the floor area and a standing-only pit in front of the stage.
Pit tickets are $75, floor reserved seating is $45 and general admission bleachers tickets are $40. Prices do not include service fees.
Tickets will go on sale Friday at noon and can be purchased online at www.delawarestatefair.com, or by calling eTix at 1-800-514-3849.
This will be the second concert held at the Quillen Arena in the last two years. Country singer Kane Brown performed to a sold-out crowd in June 2018 for the inaugural show.
Tickets for Delaware State Fair concerts are still available. They include shows with Sugarland, Dan+Shay, Reba McIntire, Gladys Knight, Brantley Gilbert, Brothers Osbourne, Bethel Music and ventriloquist Darci Lynne. The 100th edition of the fair runs July 18-27.
Tickets are also on sale for Nickelodeon star JoJo Siwa, who will perform at the fair’s M&T Grandstand on Sept. 1.
The fairgrounds are located at 18500 S. DuPont Highway, Harrington. For tickets or more information, visit www.delawarestatefair.com.
