Jefferson Starship to land in Dover in June

DOVER — Jefferson Starship, the famed rock ‘n’ roll band that produced eight gold and platinum albums from 1974 and 1984, will perform at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino’s Rollins Center on Friday, June 22.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at or by contacting VIP Services at (800) 711-5882. Regular ticket prices range from $20 to $25. New in 2018, a limited number of premium tickets are available for $100, which includes a seat in the first five rows from the stage and early admission to the Rollins Center.

Jefferson Starship features original members David Freiberg (vocals, acoustic guitar) and Donny Baldwin (drums) along with longtime members Chris Smith (keyboards, synth bass), Jude Gold (lead guitar) and Grammy nominee Cathy Richardson (vocals and 12-string guitar).

The group, which formed following the split of Jefferson Airplane, is known for singles such as “Volunteers,” “White Rabbit,” “Wooden Ships,” “Somebody to Love,” “Today,” “Miracles,” “Count on Me,” “Fast Buck Freddie,” “Jane,” and “Find Your Way Back.”

Jefferson Starship’s hit albums include “Dragon Fly” from 1974, “Red Octopus” from 1975, “Spitfire” from 1976 and “Earth” from 1978.

In the last three years, Jefferson Starship has played in 20 countries and made several television appearances, including Direct TV’s Audience network special, PBS’s “My Music: 60s Pop, Rock and Soul” and live with the Contemporary Youth Orchestra on AXS Network. In 2014-15, the band plays a series of free concerts for U.S. veterans, and was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the Department of Defense.
