Tickets go on sale for Jimmie Allen, Herman’s Hermits with Peter Noone at Harrington Raceway

HARRINGTON — Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, Oct. 9 for two musical acts coming next year as part of Harrington Raceway and Casino’s Live On Stage series.

Country rising star Jimmie Allen is scheduled to perform on Saturday, Feb 9, 2019, and Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone are scheduled to perform May 11, 2019, at the Exhibit Hall.

Mr. Allen, a native of Milton, just played a free show before Sunday’s NASCAR race. His recent tour opening up for country superstar Toby Keith has brought Mr. Allen to the forefront of country fans earning him a spot on the “One’s to Watch” list in country music. His song “Best Shot” is climbing the billboards top 20 list and is cementing Mr. Allen as a new star in country music.

Ticket price is $34 for the all-ages show that begins at 8 p.m.

Influenced by the rock ’n’ roll American scene of the ’50s and ’60s, groups such as The Beatles, The Dave Clark Five, the Kinks, the Rolling Stones and Herman’s Hermits were at the forefront of the British invasion.

At the young age of 15, Peter Noone was receiving international fame as “Herman”, the lead singer of a new group called Herman’s Hermits. This group would go on to record what would be string of iconic hits from that era selling over 60 million recordings and garnering 14 singles and seven albums that would reach gold.

Classic hits include “I’m Into Something Good”, “Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter”, I’m Henry VIII, I Am”, “Silhouettes”, “A Must To Avoid”, “Listen People”, “There’s a Kind Of Hush” and many more. Herman’s Hermits would be featured throughout those years on hundreds of top-rated television programs and would appear with such legends as Ed Sullivan, Jackie Gleason, Dean Martin and Danny Kaye as well as appearing in three feature films for MGM: “Mrs. Brown,” “You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter,” “Hold On!” and “When the Boys Meet The Girls.”

During the ’70s, Mr. Noone would continue to perform, compose and produce songs for many artists including icon David Bowie. During the ’80s, Mr. Noone found himself on the Broadway stage starring in “The Pirates of Penzance” winning critical reviews for his performances.

Mr. Noone has hosted specials for PBS, VH1 and currently has a popular weekly series on Sirius XM satellite radio called Something Good with Peter Noone – 3 hours of ’60s music.

Ticket price is $39 for the all-ages show that begins at 8 p.m.
