Ventriloquist Dunham, Christian artist Daigle added to Delaware State Fair lineup

HARRINGTON – Ventriloquist Jeff Dunham and contemporary Christian artists Lauren Daigle with Rend Collective make up two more shows coming to the Delaware State Fair this summer, fair officials announced Friday morning.

Mr. Dunham returns to the fair Monday, July 23 as part of his new tour, “Passively Aggressive,” with Achmed, Walter, Peanut, Bubba J and the rest of the gang. He has made previous appearances in Harrington in 2016 and 2013.  Gates will open at 7 p.m. with the show at 8. Tickets are $44-59.

Ms. Daigle and Rend Collective will play the fair’s M&T Grandstand stage the next night on Tuesday, July 24. Her first full-length album, “How Can it Be” was released in April 2015 and went on to achieve Gold Record status. Ms. Daigle was awarded the New Artist of the Year title at the 2015 GMA Dove Awards with “How Can It Be” winning Song of the Year.

The next year, she went on to win Dove Awards for Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Best Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year, with her single “Trust in You.” Her album “How Can it Be” was nominated for a 2016 Grammy Award, her single “Trust in You” was nominated for a 2017 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song.

Rend Collective is Northern Ireland genre-bending Christian experimental, folk rock worship band.

Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30. Tickets are $20-60.

Tickets for both shows go on sale on sale Friday, Dec. 8 at noon and can be purchased online at www.delawarestatefair.com, or by calling eTix at 1-800-514-3849.

Last month, the fair announced that Toby Keith will play the fair July 19 and the Southern Uprising tour with Travis Tritt, The Charlie Daniels Band, The Marshall Tucker Band and The Outlaws will perform July 25. Tickets for those shows are currently on sale.

“We had such a great response to our last announcement, we wanted to keep the trend going with another announcement before Christmas. Many of our customers have requested this in hopes they could purchase tickets for that someone special,” said Danny Aguilar, assistant general manager of the Delaware State Fair.

The Delaware State Fair M&T Bank Grandstand is located at 18500 S. DuPont Highway, Harrington. The 2018 Delaware State Fair will be held July 19-28.
