Mr. Cade formerly was the legislative liaison for Gov. Jack Markell and previously worked for Rep. Carney, Sen. Tom Carper, D-Del., the Delaware House of Representatives Democratic caucus and the Democratic National Committee.

Ms. Borcky, who had been the campaign coordinator, worked for Rep. Carney in Congress. Ms. Mette has worked for Delaware Family Court’s Education Demonstration Project, the Delaware Bar Foundation and the House Democratic caucus.

“Cerron, Jess and Jackie make a strong campaign team — we’re lucky to have them onboard,” Rep. Carney said in a statement. “A governor’s campaign needs smart, energetic, dedicated people, and that’s what we have with this team. I look forward to working with them as we talk to voters up and down the state in the coming months.”

He is unopposed in the Democratic primary.

State Sen. Colin Bonini of Dover and former state trooper Lacey Lafferty are competing for the Republican nomination.
