2 weekend shooting incidents reported in Dover

DOVER — A wounded 20-year-old man and possible witnesses were uncooperative with investigators after a Sunday morning shooting in the downtown area, Dover Police spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

Officers went to the unit block of South New Street after hearing multiple gunshots around 12:17 a.m. and found a man wounded in the foot. The victim was transported to Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital followed, police said.

• Two homes in the 100 block of Cherry Street were struck by gunfire at approximately 3:56 a.m. Saturday, authorities said. Arriving police found that roughly five shots were fired.
The homes were occupied and no injuries were reported, police said.

Regarding the two incidents, Cpl. Hoffman said “There is no indication that they are related at this time.”

Police asked anyone with information on either of the incidents to call 736-7130.
