512th Airlift Wing to welcome new commander this morning

DOVER — Col. Gregory P. Haynes will assume command of the 512th Airlift Wing at Dover Air Force Base this morning at 9 in a ceremony officiated by Maj. Gen. Randall A. Ogden, 4th Air Force commander at March Air Reserve Base, California.

Col. Haynes’ previous assignment was as commander of the 433rd Operations Group, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. There, he directed the operations and activities of the group and its six assigned subordinate units, providing combat-ready airmen for worldwide combat commitments and led the Formal Training Unit for all C-5MSuper Galaxy aircrew training.

Col. Haynes succeeds Col. Craig C. Peters, who departed the Liberty Wing in April to take command of the 439th AW at Westover ARB in Massachusetts.
