Biden to lie in honor at Legislative Hall Thursday

DOVER — The late Joseph R. “Beau” Biden III will lie in honor at Legislative Hall in Dover from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday, according to a statement by the Office of the Vice President.

Mr. Biden, former Delaware attorney general and the son of Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr., died Saturday of brain cancer at the age of 46.

On Friday, there will be a viewing at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Wilmington from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 and 9 p.m.

On Saturday at 10:30 a.m., a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Anthony of Padua where President Barack Obama will deliver the eulogy.

The General Assembly will not be in session Thursday.

Mr. Biden’s wife, Hallie, has requested that in lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial contribution should donate to the newly formed Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children at: www.beaubidenfoundation.org.
