Bonini: voter fraud real but shouldn’t be issue in Delaware

DOVER — Republican State Sen. Colin Bonini says voter fraud is real, but that he doesn’t expect it to play any role in his Delaware gubernatorial contest against Democrat John Carney.

Bonini’s comments Thursday came in response to questions posed to him about Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s suggestion that he may not accept the results of next month’s vote.

Bonini says that while voter fraud is a very real issue, he doesn’t have any evidence to believe that it’s become massive to the point of resulting in a presidential race being fixed.

Bonini also says he will accept the result of his own election contest, barring “extreme irregularities” like three-quarters of the state’s voting machines failing.
