DelDOT announces Labor Day weekend changes

DOVER — Delaware’s Department of Transportation will suspend construction-related lane closures on major routes on Friday until next Tuesday.

Emergency lane and/or shoulder closures may still occur at any time.

DelDOT’s Transportation Management Center (TMC) monitors and adjusts traffic signals for heavy congestion or incidents. Motorists can contact the TMC (24/7) at the following numbers: Dial #77 from any cell phone in Delaware; and (302) 659-4600 or 1-800-324-8379.

The agency urges motorists to use DelDOT’s App on their tablets and smart phones. The app can be downloaded free at the Apple and Google Play stores or by visiting

The E-ZPass Express Lanes are open at I-95 Newark Toll Plaza; Biddles Toll Plaza on SR 1; and Dover Plaza on SR 1, as well as most of the other cash toll booth lanes at the plazas. Motorists are reminded to slow down when approaching the toll plazas, to ensure the safety of our toll collectors.

DART First State services, both fixed route and paratransit, will not operate next Monday with the exception of the Beach Bus services, its related paratransit service, and the Route 305 – Beach Connection.

DART’s Beach Bus services operate daily through Sept. 9. Beginning Sept. 10, two popular Beach Bus routes will begin year-round service, Route 201 between Lewes Park & Ride and Rehoboth, and Route 204 between Lewes Park & Ride and Downtown Lewes.

Free parking is available at Lewes Park & Ride; Rehoboth Park & Ride will offer free parking beginning Sept. 10.
