DMI plans groovy time with Milford’s Third Thursday

MILFORD — This month’s Third Thursday will be chock full of fun activities and sales for all ages, according to Downtown Milford Inc., which encourages those attending to wear tie-dye to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of Woodstock.

The downtown portion of Walnut Street will be closed for those in attendance and many stores remain open until 8 p.m. with a select variety of food trucks and special events.

Food trucks to be found on Walnut Street during Third Thursday in August will include: Delicious Craving, Five Star BBQ and Bakery, Oriental Express,

The Corn Exchange, St. Michael’s Gluten Free Bakery Girl, Wildwich, Woody’s on Wheels and Zaikka Indian Grill.

The Chronicle will host its conversation this month with Milford Mayor Archie Campbell from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Gallery 37’s Small Works Gallery will show an exhibit celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Woodstock Music Festival. Black and white photos of Janis Joplin and the original Woodstock poster. A special Fortunata Bakery cookie (celebrating the era of 1969) will be available for those who visit the gallery that evening. Enjoy 15 percent off select items.

Lady Maggie’s Boutique will stage a 20-ensemble fashion show beginning at 6:30 p.m. on North Walnut near Lady Maggie’s Boutique.
Blooming Boutique’s Simply Southern Event will offer prizes, face painting and refreshments.

Third Thursday in August is Carnival Time at Tax Chicks. Enjoy Chicken Flickin and other carnival games from 5-7 p.m. The Carnival Lionel Train will be running.

Red Bandana will host a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tournament from 5-8 p.m. with a $5 entry fee. The tournament is limited to 30 players and offers winners a gift card.

Dolce Bakery & Coffee Shop will serve far out desserts in the spirit of Woodstock’s 50th anniversary. All ice cream will be 15 percent off, including their house made waffle cones and homemade cookie dough milkshake and their will be an acoustic performance from Milford’s own Brother & I.

Irish Rose will offer a 15 percent discount on all clothing.
The Loft Team will be hosting the first ever Loft Team Third Thursday Cornhole Tournament with cash prize. Cost is $5 per person. Teams are welcome, but limited spots are available. The tournament begins at 6 p.m. sharp.

The Mispillion Art League has an exhibit entitled “16th Annual Judges Show” and will be open late until 8 p.m. on Third Thursday.

The Milford Museum will hold its Speaker Series at the Milford’s Women’s Club at 6 Church Avenue from 7 to 8 p.m. “Eastern Shore Baseball League” will be presented by Mike Lambert. He will give a presentation on the Eastern Shore Baseball League. This was a Class D professional league.

Over 150 players went to the majors and four were elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
