Felton man charged in Milford shooting

MILFORD — A 30-year-old Felton man was taken into custody Sunday, two days after authorities said a gunshot struck an occupied vehicle, Milford Police Sgt. Robert Masten said.

A warrant was obtained for Linwood G. Owens after an alleged incident at 8 p.m. Friday in the 1000 block of South Walnut Street, police said.

He was located in Felton by town police and Delaware State Police and then transferred to Milford authorities.

A Chevrolet Traverse was struck in the rear fender, police said. No injuries were reported.

Charges include possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, two counts of first-degree reckless endangering, possession of a deadly weapon by person prohibited and criminal mischief over $1,000.

A $34,000 cash bail was set at Justice of the Peace Court 3 in Georgetown and Mr. Owens was then held at Sussex Correctional Institution. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Thursday in the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas.
