Georgetown woman sentenced to 15 years in death of infant son

GEORGETOWN — A Georgetown woman has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to murder by neglect in the death of her infant son.

Thirty-year-old Casey Layton of Georgetown was sentenced after entering the plea Friday in the 2015 death of Aiden Hundley.

Layton and the boy’s father, Doyle Hundley, called 911 in May 2015 saying their three-month-old son was unresponsive. An examination revealed the baby had multiple injuries in various stages of healing and was severely malnourished.

The child lived on life support for almost five months before dying in September 2015. Hundley pleaded guilty to murder by neglect last year and is awaiting sentencing.

An autopsy found that the child died of blunt-force trauma to the head.

Court records indicate that both parents were longtime drug addicts.
