Milford man accused of home improvement fraud

HARRINGTON — A 32-year-old Milford man was charged with home improvement fraud after allegedly failing to finish garage repairs after being paid approximately $1,500, authorities said Monday.

A homeowner claimed that Vincent J. Denney did only limited work at the Clark Street residence after first being contacted in September, Harrington Police spokesman Sgt. Earl K. Brode said. Despite several calls asking for completion, the homeowner alleged that Mr. Denney failed to do so, according to police.

The homeowner then contacted police, who obtained an arrest warrant. Mr. Denney turned himself Friday, Sgt. Brode said.

Mr. Denney was also charged with theft by false pretense over $1,500. He was arraigned via video phone through Justice of the Peace Court 7 in Dover and released on his own recognizance pending a future court hearing.
