People’s Place thanks Chamber of Commerce for Greater Milford, community supporters

People’s Place would like to thank the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Milford for selecting us to share the proceeds from the annual Girls Night Out fundraiser on May 3, 2019.

Due to the generosity of the community we were thrilled when presented with a check in the amount of $5,000.00 by members of the CCGM Girls Night Out Committee and this year’s Marvelous Man winner, Bill Vendetti. The funds received will be used to support People’s Place ten programs which provide critical services to Delawareans.

Thanks to the hard work, time and planning of the GNO Committee this year’s event was a night to remember!

Guests embraced the theme “Dress to Impress in Your Little Black Dress” and came ready to enjoy an evening  with friends, win prizes, sample delicious food from local food vendors, dance to music performed by Plead the 5th Band and of course be entertained by the Marvelous Man participants.

People’s Place would also like to sincerely thank the Marvelous Men that raised money for the two non-profits by selling event and raffle tickets, obtaining sponsorships, and being such good sports while on stage to raise additional funding.  Congratulations to Mr. Bill Vendetti representing the Milford Reformation Lutheran Church for being crowned the 2019 winner at the end of the evening.  We would like to applaud his fellow participants; Ricky Freebury, Delmarva Broadcasting, Tom Smoker, People’s Place, Todd Wilson, Dover Federal Credit Union, and Don Lindsay, Plead the 5th Band, who all did a marvelous job raising money for the two non-profits.

Thanks to our 2019 sponsors; Dover Federal Credit Union, IG Burton, Dover Pools, Shore United Bank   and the Girls Night Out Platinum Sponsor, the Delaware State News.

Special thanks to the evening’s food vendors: Performance Food Group, Etta’s Catering, Country Cupcakes, Beach House Pantry, Kickin Chicken, Mr. BBQ, and the Milford Senior Center for donating and serving such a wonderful assortment of food.  Thank you to Dana McDonald from Cool 101.3, Mike Baker from CM Baker Photography for donating his photo booth, Tommy Trice from Trice Auctions,  2018 Marvelous Man, Robert Carpenter, the Rehoboth Beach Atlantic Sands Hotel & Conference Center for donating a weekend getaway at the beach and to the many businesses and individuals that donated items for the popular “Marvelous Chances” raffle.

People’s Place is a non-profit human services organization offering a wide range of services to Delaware residents with locations throughout the state.  The agency is a full-member of the United Way of DE and receives state and federal grants as well as private donations which ensure the success of our ten programs.  For more information or to make a donation to support our mission go to www.peoplesplace2.com or call 302-422-8033.
