Police: No foul play suspected in Firefly attendee’s death

DOVER – No foul play was suspected as investigation into the death of a 20-year-old Philadelphia woman attending the 2018 Firefly Music Festival continued Sunday, authorities said.

While the cause of Caroline Friedman’s death was unknown, Dover Police said an autopsy and toxicology results were pending. The late woman was reported unconscious at her campsite at approximately 6:30 a.m., spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said, and was pronounced deceased at 6:55 a.m. at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital in Dover.

Police said officers were alerted to an unresponsive female in Camping Lot 18 at Dover International Speedway at 1131 N. DuPont Highway. Ms. Friedman was treated at the scene by medical staff before being transported to the hospital, police said.
