Police: Woman stabbed boyfriend, slashed car tires

HARTLY — A 33-year-old woman allegedly stabbed her boyfriend with a knife and slashed his vehicle’s tires during a Tuesday afternoon incident, authorities said.

Dayna N. Lilly committed the alleged assault at a 34-year-old man’s residence in the unit block of Mcdougalls Lane at approximately 2:50 p.m., Delaware State Police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe said.

Ms. Lilly was later arrested without incident in the unit block of Kent Circle in Dover, then re-arrested after she posted bond and returned to the scene in Hartly, police said.

The man claimed he was stabbed when approaching Ms. Lilly as she slashed his tires, police said. Troopers spoke with him as he was being treated for non-life threatening injuries at Bayhealth Medical Center.

Ms. Lilly was taken to DSP Troop 3 in Camden-Wyoming and charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, second-degree assault and criminal mischief.

A no contact order with the wounded man was issued in Justice of the Peace Court and Ms. Lilly was released on a $22,600 unsecured bond, police said.

The alleged no contact violation brought another appearance in JP Court, and Ms. Lilly was released on a $500 unsecured bond.
