Signal work at US 113/SR 20 to begin April 25

MILLSBORO – Motorists can expect daytime lane and shoulder closures beginning later this month as Delaware’s Department of Transportation changes signal phasing at the US 113/SR 20 intersection.

The side street approaches (Hardscrabble Road and Betts Pond Road) currently operate using “concurrent” signal phasing, where both eastbound and westbound traffic proceed at the same time facing circular green indications.

DelDOT will be installing “split” signal phasing:  first westbound Betts Pond Road traffic will proceed, followed by eastbound Hardscrabble Road traffic.

DelDOT’s Traffic Signal Construction Section in conjunction with Kriss Contracting are scheduled to begin signal modification on April 25. Work is expected to be complete in mid-May, pending weather.

Daytime lane and shoulder closures will occur from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, pending weather.

Flaggers will direct motorists through the intersection. DelDOT reminds motorists to drive with extra caution in work zones.
