SnowMG! Big dig begins in Delaware

DOVER – Delawareans will begin the big dig today after two days of a nasty nor’easter that dumped as much as 17 inches of snow in some areas.

The sun is peaking through this morning en route to what should be a sunny day with a high near 31, according to the National Weather Service. Winds today will be from the northwest at 13-17 mph.

Tonight’s temperature will drop to around 15 degrees with west winds 5-8 mph.

Forecasters said Monday will be mostly sunny with a high near 37.

The final numbers, according to the Delaware Environmental System, for the two-day snow event:

  • Woodside — 17.2
  • West Dover — 14.2
  • Harrington — 13.1
  • Dover — 11.2
  • Frederica — 10.3
  • Smyrna — 9.7
  • Laurel — 8.8
  • Ellendale — 7.4
  • Bethany Beach — 5.2
  • Selbyville — 5.0
  • Bridgeville — 4.9
  • Stockley — 4.4
  • Lewes — 2.6
  • Nassau — 2.5
