U.S. 13 sewer project now changing phases

DOVER — Construction activity in the U.S. 13 Sewer Rehabilitation Project is moving north in Phase 2B and will enter Phase 3 in the near future, according to Kent County Levy Court officials.

Both northbound left turn lanes onto KW Boulevard will be closed for night work only for about five separate nights (weather permitting). This work is scheduled to begin on Sunday, Oct. 27. The estimated work hours are from 9 p.m. until 9 a.m. The intersection serves the businesses in the Dover Town Center, Delaware State University Commons, Hampton Inn, Sam’s Club, etc.

The Cedar Chase and U.S. 13 intersection is expected to be closed for one night the week of Oct. 28th and an additional night the week of Nov. 11th (weather permitting). The estimated work hours are from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.

The following activities are scheduled to take place in November and December. An additional notification will be provided once the schedule can be further determined.

• Both northbound left turn lanes onto West Denney’s Road will be closed for about seven weeks (weather permitting). This work is
expected to start the second week of November.

• West Denney’s Road will be closed from U.S. 13 to the Delaware Technical Community College entrance road for around four weeks
(weather permitting). This work is anticipated to start the first week of December.

Kent County reminds motorists that all temporary traffic closures will include detour signs to assist drivers with an alternative traffic route.
