Voter registration deadline

Today is the last day most people can register to vote for the Nov. 6 general election. Individuals can sign up in several ways.

Registration forms are available on the Department of Elections’ website and can be mailed to county office where the person resides. Applications with a postmark later than Oct. 13 will be denied.

The four election offices will be open from 9 to 2 today to allow citizens to register. The state election commissioner’s office is located at 905 S. Governors Ave. Suite 170 in Dover. The Kent County office is at 100 Enterprise Place Suite 5, while the New Castle County office is at the Carvel State Office Building at 820 North French St. Suite 400 in Wilmington, and the Sussex County site is located at 119 N. Race St. in Georgetown.

Delawareans can also sign up online at ivote.de.gov.

Individuals must be U.S. citizens and Delaware residents to register. Only those who are at least 18 or will turn 18 before Nov. 6 can vote.

Uniformed services members and Delawareans living in another country have until Oct. 22 to sign up.
