LETTER TO THE EDITOR: It’s tough to drain a swamp in Washington

That swamp drainage President Trump has wanted to achieve has proven to be a very difficult task! All of the swamp-dwellers are determined to remain in place and flourish as they always have been able to do. The swamp in Washington, D.C., is a complicated place within its own world, a world that never wants to be disturbed.

Washington, D.C., is a location all unto itself, surrounded by a country living in reality. These swamp creatures have established a lifestyle quite beneficial to their way of enduring and prospering at America’s expense. Their bottom line in surviving so well has always been with the “tell ’em what they want to hear” platform. So far, so good! These special swamp inhabitants are pros in playing the game of deception, special interests and wellbeing within their exclusive community.

No matter what the issue on the agenda is that could benefit all Americans, their primary consideration has consistently been “How will my decision affect my re-election chances?” Ain’t politics grand?

The unexpected event that happened on Nov. 8, 2016 greatly disturbed the grand plan of continuance of the status quo. An “outsider,” not one of their own, who didn’t want to play their game, came crashing down on their perfect little existence. It has always been business as usual in Washington, D.C.

“How does this interloper believe he can survive within our hallowed halls of perfection and self-serving interests? The nerve of this person who is now president of the United States, believing he can change our way of life. How can he uproot the life we have striven to create and preserve living so comfortably in our special swamp environment? We have succeeded so very well by planning together our lifestyle endeavors while grasping all the perks and pluses we have enjoyed but could now be overturned, disregarded and discarded like yesterday’s news by this ‘not one of our own’ president.”

Yes, President Trump has a mighty mountain to climb with the swamp majorities slithering along in the quagmire of these hallowed halls. It would be beneficial to remind these dedicated individuals that President Trump, himself, is quite strong and prepared to challenge the most vocal of his detractors.

They now declare themselves the “Party of Resistance,” not Opposition. How appropriate! This is descriptively obvious to all what their goal has been since the unexpected happening on Nov. 8, 2016. President Trump has met these most formidable and resolute members of the “do nothings” at all levels of our government.

These perpetrators of the continual errors in governing are extremely vocal as the champions of the rehash. Rehash any prior subject matter over and over again that has been explored and factually concluded that there was no further exploration required. That never stops the most determined of the swamp-dwellers: The so-called “leaders” of this pack, known by the monikers as “The Dynamic Duo” and/or tag teams of Pelosi and Cummings, bolstered by “weeping” Chucky Schumer. They want their swamp to survive all the slings and arrows of their intended misfortune hoisted by the swamp evictor.

America elected President Trump because in him the confirmed belief was that he was the one person who would dislodge the “swampers” to a new location. Their superiority stand would be finally eliminated by a person who did not live in their “special” world. America was drowning in their indecision, destructive thought practices and futile efforts to degrade America in the world’s eye. Their days of glory would be ending. This would be the finale of their perfect existence. Americans want prosperity and wellbeing in their own lives.

The powers that “were” did not accomplish that dream. It was definitely time for the reality of Hope and Change, not the unfulfilled promise of H&C unable to come to fruition by following the inabilities of the past decrees of the ineffectives.

Reality bites. Success in the American Dream still lives within the soul of all Americans who have been exhausted by the weak excuses and hurling blame, inflicted by the past indiscretions and precedents set by Washington, D.C., bureaucratic rhetoric.

Any competitors who disrupt their beautiful swamp-like existence should be disgraced and destroyed. Unfortunately for the traditionally negligent, a new exterminator is in the Oval Office and the swamp will be drained. It might take a touch longer than anticipated due to the fact that those swamp “things” don’t surrender easily. However, time is not on their side. Truth and courage of resolve will win out and conquer the “Creatures” of the Potomac River,” resulting in their eviction and an end to their ever-so-constant, comfortable existence in the Washington, D.C., swamp!

May God always bless the United States of America.
