Letter to the Editor: ‘A booming mess’

Can’t be serious about fines for hungry people begging. Then you’ll put more in prison since they can’t pay the fine. (“Dover leaders try to curb city’s begging issue,” Nov. 18)

You can somewhat tell if the beggars are truly in need or taking advantage of society. I had a young lady tell me she only needed enough to eat for that day and that she found a job. She was excited.

Besides, all you’re worried about is your precious downtown. Those problems started before this issue. I will not go downtown. It’s not feeling safe. Dover has changed so much due to different people moving here. Thanks builders and tourism for making our quiet city a booming mess.
