LETTER TO THE EDITOR: But not for thee

The state has had a rare good income year and the boys and girls in the General Assembly are like a flower girl at a wedding, skipping down the aisle, throwing rose pedals left and right to all the usual worthy suspects.

Millions to this cause and millions to that worthy nonprofit. Bonuses and the most generous family leave plan in the country for state employees. One would think it’s an election year.

The only players left out are the ones who got hit for every new fee and tax increase over the past years. That’s right, the taxpayers got bumpkus from the flower girl. We don’t even get to smell the roses or maybe get a lousy one-time $50 refund for filing our taxes.
