LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Candidates to speak Thursday in Lincoln

Delaware Primary election voters were low. Healthy democracy needs significant voting numbers. So to motivate and educate voters, the nonpartisan, Lincoln Civic Association is sponsoring a Candidates Forum. It’s free.

On Thursday at 7 p.m., candidates for U.S. Senate and Congress plus Delaware treasurer, auditor and attorney general are invited to talk with voters.

It is unique. All four, Delaware political parties (Democrats, Republicans, Greens and Libertarians) are welcome to speak on public issues.

The program follows the Delaware Department of Elections’ Nov. 6 fallot: federal, statewide and local. Public question and answer sessions follow each group of presentations.

Lincoln Community Center is at 18883 Washington St., the intersection with Second Street by the Sussex County EMS Ambulance Building. It’s one block from the mid-town traffic light on Johnson Road, (connecting Routes 1 and 113), and is directly in front of the only public school in Lincoln.

Please invite voters, family, friends and neighbors to Candidates Forum, Sept. 20 at 7 p/m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. It is important, free education.
