LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Re-elect Jim Hosfelt

Jim Hosfelt has shown that he has the ability and leadership skills that we need for Kent County Levy Court.

First, Jim has been a huge supporter to our veterans. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years. As Chief of Police, Jim began a Veterans Recognitions Program, and was instrumental in recruiting and hiring veterans whenever possible.

To this day, Jim continues to hire many retired and active-duty veterans in his current position as Director of Public Safety with Dover International Speedway.

Second, getting information out to the people has always been a priority to Jim. At Dover Police Department, he worked to improve community relations by creating the Public Affairs Office. This saw the start of the department’s social media, such as Facebook, Twitter, MYPD mobile app and RAIDS Online Crime Mapping.

Lastly, Jim is involved in the community. He is a founding member of the Vines Community Project to fight opioid addiction. He represents Levy Court at the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce and Kent County Crime Watch and is a staunch supporter to our volunteer fire services.

It is easy to see why Jim Hosfelt is the right man for Kent County Levy Court Commissioner.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Jim Hosfelt, a Republican, is seeking re-election to the Kent County Levy Court 2nd District seat.

Paul M. Bernat
Retired Chief of Dover Police
