LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Support for Lewis

I would like to express my support for Brian E. Lewis to become the next Kent County Sheriff this coming Nov. 6.

I have known Brian for several years and have always been impressed by his kindness and willingness to help others in the community. This is what a true public servant stands for.

I know if Brian is elected to become our next Kent County sheriff he will bring new ideas to the office that will help the people of our community, whether it is public workshops or seminars on the process and procedure of the sheriff’s office or guidance on helping someone from losing their home, which can be devastating to someone who falls down on their luck or loses their job.

Brian Lewis is very committed to the citizens he currently serves as a Dover city councilman and will be dedicated to the Office of Sheriff. He is a no-nonsense person, and his experience makes him uniquely qualified to perform the duties of Kent County sheriff.

With all the spending that’s out of control in our country, it would be great to know Brian Lewis would be there to make sure my tax dollars are being spent much more wisely as he has done as a city councilman. Brian has the reputation of being a tax advocate!

It is obvious that the Sheriff’s Department brings in revenue to the county no matter whom the sheriff is. There are always ways to save more tax dollars and give it back to the community. Winston Churchill once said we make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give. That statement truly defines Brian Lewis.
