LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Turning back to God will help curb the violence

The question “Why?” comes up every time a tragedy happens such as the shooting in Oregon.

Let us consider the possibility that our government, along with the majority of judges and the ACLU (Against Christian Liberties Union), oh, let us not forget the Supreme Court, have kicked God out of the schools, out of public places and off government property, and all because one person may be or is offended, because they do not believe in a Supreme Being, that the whole world revolves around them. Are you serious? And yet, their rights are upheld, while the rights of the majority of Christians are being trampled on.

If anyone can find, in the Constitution of the United States, separation of church and state, please let me know on what page it was found. These people have their own holiday, which is April 1st (for the fool has said in his heart, “there is no God”), so, I wish they would leave ours alone.

There was a time when church services were held in the halls of Congress and the Supreme Court, and these great men, who founded this great country, wrote the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, did not see any conflict with regards to religious freedom or liberties that were outlined in those documents.

However, all that being said, here is what God has to say: “Because I have called and you have refused to listen, have stretched out My hand and no one has heeded, because you have ignored all My counsel and would have none of My correction, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when terror strikes you, when terror strikes you like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind. When distress and anguish come upon you. Then they will call on Me, but I will not answer; they will seek Me diligently but will not find Me. Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord, would have none of My counsel and despised all My reproof, therefore they shall eat the fruit of their way and have the fill of their own devices.”

Many, including this president, are blaming guns, and they want to take them away from everyone. A gun or rifle sitting on a table never killed anyone. It is the person controlling that weapon. If there were no guns, they would use knives, bats, screwdrivers, vehicles and the like. So, where does it end? The answer is, we need to go back to our roots, the very foundation of our nation, the Holy Bible (not the Koran).
