Letter to the Editor: What coup?

Mr. Daniels, I read your commentary letter (DSN Oct. 20, “Is United States becoming a third-world country?”). Some of your letters you admonish our current POTUS for his acts. Now here you are accusing the Democrats, the intelligence community and the DOJ of forming this ridiculous act.

I agree with some of the things you say, but others things need to have the flag thrown. Remember Nixon was a duly elected president and look what brought him down. HRC was never the “Chosen One.” In her book, she even said she did not want that distinction. She was the most qualified candidate the Dems could field. Trump did not win hands down. He only won courtesy of the Electoral College (304-227). Everyone thought HRC was going to continue Obama’s legacy. What if she had her own agenda? We will never know because she never got the opportunity.

As for the Squad, or as you refer to them the “Unholy Four,” do you think these women are going to unseat Nancy Pelosi who has been in politics for over 30 years? I think not. Besides, all four of them are up for re-election next year. If they don’t get re-elected, what will you all do? Go into the streets and set off fireworks and fire your guns.

No election is a given Mr. Daniels, for example: James K. Polk — no one saw him coming, Dewey vs. Truman, need I say more? Trump has bullied the Republican party into a bunch of cowed sheep, with a bigger ewe leading them. If they had admonished his behavior, none of this would be going on.

I doubt the impeachment inquiry is going away. The Dems don’t need to vote for it. They’re running the Watergate playbook. They want their case so airtight that the squirrels, mice, rats, raccoons ants and roaches can’t get in. All of this over a phone call to a foreign power looking in to some supposed corruption which did not occur in the U.S., in a country where our laws don’t apply, nor do we have an extradition treaty with.

I have been on two White House tours. The one thing they tell everyone is that “all electronic transmissions, whether inside or outside the White House, are recorded”.

Even the president’s most secure phones are monitored. I knew it was bad when the IG from the Director of National Intelligence came out with the Whistleblower Act. Even worse, when the director himself came out and told the public himself. We shall soon see.
