A recent Associated Press article reported that as House Democrats begin laying out the vision for their new majority, impeaching Donald Trump is noticeably missing from the to-do list and firmly on the margins.

• Don’t impeach him, but do try to contain him from riding to crazy town every day. — Paula Giordano

• Hopefully some criminal Democrats will get prosecuted in the next two years. Hillary, Obama, Lynch and many others. Nobody is above the law. — Mark Schmalhofer

• There are plenty of political reasons to impeach him but there are plenty of legal reasons about to be revealed. Impeach him and let’s deal with the Pence Theocracy head on. — Bryan Bobel

• Nope, leave the him right where he’s at, Pence is even worse and Trump will become the albatross around the Republicans neck once the economy goes down. And you know it’s coming. — Rob Roth

• If the Democrats try to impeached President Trump it will be the greatest political blunder ever! Why, because the next time a Democrat is president with a Republican House and Senate remember what Judge Kavanaugh said. “What goes around comes around.” The Democrats will also be setting the cornerstone to impeach any president any time a different party controls the House. This would be a constitutional crisis caused by the Democrats. Just accept Hillary Rodham Clinton lost the election, stop the resistance and start doing your jobs. I don’t know about you but I’m happy with a 3.7 unemployment rate, gas at $2 a gallon, and the stock market plus all the jobs being created are funding Social Security and Medicare. — Bob Smith

• If the Democrats haven’t got the will to impeach they should then resign and let someone with the will to impeach do the job. I think the Democrats have seen other offices holders on both sides become extremely wealthy by selling their votes and that is their priority. Forget campaign promises. I don’t think Pelosi is right for speaker. It should be one of the newly elected with the heart and will to make the necessary changes but not focus on getting paid for voting. Now is not the time for same old same old. — Gladys K. Adams

• Impeach him for what? Being the best president we’ve had in a long time? — Steve Peterman

• The Constitution defines impeachment at the federal level and limits impeachment to “the president, vice president, and all civil officers of the United States” who may be impeached and removed only for “treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors”.So I’m asking what high crimes has he committed? — Jeff Grzeszczak

• Technically the president (whoever that may be) has to actually do something wrong as spelled out by the Constitution to be impeached. So far Trump hasn’t even gotten close to those standards. You don’t get to impeach someone simply because you don’t like them or still upset your side lost. — Shawn Knox
