Armed robbery at Save-A-Lot

DOVER — An armed suspect demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash during a Wednesday night robbery at the Save-A-Lot Grocery Store at 650 S. Bay Road, Dover Police spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

The suspect was wielding a black handgun and fled across South Bay Road into a Blue Hen Corporate Center parking lot heading northeast, police said.

The suspect was described as a black male in his 20s, wearing an opaque face mask, dark blue Polo brand hooded sweatshirt (red Polo horse on chest), dark pants, and black shoes with a white sole.

Anyone with information was asked to call Dover PD at 736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted to law enforcement through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or online at; a cash reward of up to $1,000 is possible for information leading to an arrest.
