Arrest made in December 2017 arson

Alonzo Small

DOVER — A 37-year-old man was arrested without incident Tuesday in alleged connection with a Dec. 26, 2017 arson case, Dover Police said.

Alonzo Small was charged with second-degree arson, third-degree burglary and reckless burning after police received multiple anonymous tips and used surveillance footage from a parking lot at 613 Clara Street, according to authorities. The response came after still photos were placed on social media asking for assistance from the public, police said.

The City of Dover Fire Marshal’s office also investigated.

An RV received $166,000 in fire damage and a Capital School District bus had $16,000 in damage, spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

Small was released on unsecured bond.
