DOVER — A 51-year-old Dover man was arrested after investigation into a burglary at Capitol Cleaners early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Dover Police said the business at 217 S. New Street was broken into at approximately 1:19 a.m. and officers responded to an alarm call. While searching the property officers located unsecured doors to the business and that the cash drawer was missing, spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

Officers continued to check the business and located James Smith at the rear of the business with two cash drawers and cash in his possession, police said. Mr. Smith was taken into custody without incident.

Charges included third-degree burglary, theft under $1,500 and two counts of criminal mischief. Mr. Smith was committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center near Smyrna in default of $3,000 bond.
