Attempted robbery reported at liquor store

DOVER — An unknown suspect was sought following an attempted robbery at Court Street Liquors Wednesday at approximately 7:46 p.m., authorities said.

Dover Police spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said a man entered the business at 460 S. DuPont Highway and displayed a silver revolver while demanding money from the employee. When the employee refused, the suspect fled on foot toward the Capital Green neighborhood. The suspect was described as a black male, wearing a black Adidas jacket, black pants, and a black face mask.

Police asked anyone with information to call 736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted to law enforcement through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or online at; a cash reward of up to $1,000 is possible for information leading to an arrest.
