Children’s clothing store burglarized overnight

DOVER — The Carter’s children’s store was burglarized early Thursday morning, Dover Police spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

Authorities said an unknown suspect used a large rock to break a front window to the business at approximately 3:11 a.m. Once inside, the suspect removed several clothing items and fled. Arriving officers located a vehicle in the Cedar Chase Apartment complex with an alarm going off and an unknown subject running from it.

Some children’s clothing items were found inside of the trunk, which was left unsecured. The vehicle was towed to the Dover Police Department for further processing.

Police asked anyone with information to call 736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted to law enforcement through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or online at; a cash reward of up to $1,000 is possible for information leading to an arrest.
