Death investigation ongoing in Lincoln

LINCOLN — A 34-year-old man’s death from a gunshot wound Wednesday is under investigation by the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit.

Spokeswoman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe said troopers were initially dispatched to a residence in the 15000 block of Winner Circle for a death investigation at approximately 8:26 p.m. The wounded man was transported to Sussex Bayhealth Hospital in Milford and later transferred to Christiana Hospital where he succumbed to his injury.

Police withheld the victim’s name pending the notification of next of kin. More information would be released when available.

There is no threat or concern to the public’s safety at this time, police said.
