Dive team assists in Silver Lake investigation

DOVER – A Delaware State Police Dive team assisted city law enforcement in an investigation at Silver Lake Wednesday morning, authorities confirmed.

Dover Police spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said the water search for evidence was related to an undisclosed shooting case and there was no threat to public safety. The probe was not connected to the recent discovery of a Wesley College student’s body in Silver Lake.

“It’s not uncommon for the state police dive team to assist in water-related searches for evidence and they happen in various locations,” Cpl. Hoffman said.
