Dover man, 18, dies in shooting

DOVER – An 18-year-old Dover man died from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body late Thursday night, Dover Police spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman.

Jarmar Richardson was found outside as officers arrived at The Village at McKee Branch for a shots fired report at approximately 10:32 p.m., authorities. He was transported to Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital with succumbed to his injuries.

Police were at the scene in the 200 block of Harmony Lane within two minutes of being dispatched, Cpl. Hoffman said. Mr. Richardson did not live in the neighborhood, according to police.

It was unknown whether others were in the vicinity at the time of the shooting, authorities said Friday morning. No property damage to nearby structures was reported, police said.

As investigation continued, Dover Police asked anyone with information to call 736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or online at; a cash reward of up to $1,000 is possible for information leading to an arrest.
