Dover Police investigating shooting death

DOVER – City police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old man in the 100 block of South Queen Street on Thursday night .

According to Dover Police, officers were called to a residence for a reported shooting at 9:34 p.m.; upon arrival, Emmitt Brown was found with a gunshot wound to his torso.

Authorities said officers immediately provided first aid until Mr. Brown was transported to Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

Police said more details would be released as they become available.
