Fifth DUI charge for Milton woman

Kimberly A. Kashner

MILTON — A 53-year-old Milton woman was charged with a fifth offense DUI following a motor vehicle crash Friday, Delaware State Police spokeswoman Sgt. Richard Bratz said.

Troopers were initially dispatched to the area of Hudson and Cave Neck roads at approximately 10:19 p.m., authorities said. Upon arrival, troopers canvassed the area and observed two vehicles stopped on Hudson Road facing southbound. A blue Honda Civic and an SUV were located.

Upon contact, Kimberly A. Kashner, the driver of the Honda Civic appeared to be intoxicated and showed multiple signs of impairment, according to police. While speaking with the driver an odor of alcoholic beverage was immediately detected coming from her breath, authorities alleged.

A DUI investigation was initiated and a computer inquiry revealed four previous DUI convictions.

Ms. Kashner was taken into custody and transported to Troop 7 in Lewes. She was also charged with inattentive driving. She was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown on a $5,000 secured bond.
