Georgetown man arrested for stabbing victim in robbery

GEORGETOWN – Town of Georgetown police arrested a Georgetown man, accused of striking and stabbing the victim in robbery incident Sunday afternoon.

Justin Holston, 29, was arrested on charges of Robbery 1st degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon During Commission of a Felony and Aggravated Menacing, Georgetown Police Department spokesman Det. Joey Melvin said.

Holston was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in Lieu of $126,000 secured bond.

The incident occurred at about 1:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Strawberry Alley. The victim was approached by the suspect, who had a knife and demanded money, according to Georgetown police.

After striking the victim in the face and stabbing the victim in the arm with the knife, the suspect took an undisclosed amount of US currency from the victim and fled on foot, Det. Melvin said.

The victim was treated on scene for non-life-threatening injuries.

While officers continued the investigation, the suspect returned to the scene and was taken into custody without incident, Det. Melvin said.
