Georgetown man charged with unlawful sexual contact

Joseph D. Spruill

MILFORD — A 57-year-old Georgetown man was arrested after investigation into an alleged unlawful sexual contact on a DART Para Transit Bus in February, Milford Police said.

Joseph D. Spruill was taken into custody on June 1 after detectives obtained an arrest warrant, police said. While the bus was in a parking lot near a stop in the 900 block of North DuPont Boulevard (U.S. 113) it was alleged Mr. Spruill, who was the operator of the bus, forced one of the two people to touch him inappropriately. It was also alleged, police said, that he attempted to force a second victim to touch him, but that person was able to pull away.

Mr. Spruill turned himself into police and was charged with two counts each of third-degree unlawful sexual contact and harassment. He was presented at Justice of the Peace Court 2, where unsecured bail was set at $4,000.
